Finally, many women suffer from heavy bleeding during the operation. While the microwaves are designed to ensure that there is a minimal amount of blood loss involved, there is still a risk of large amounts of bleeding and the possibility of infection. These are minor problems, however, and like most of the other endometrial ablation risks, they will go away a few days or weeks after the operation.
